Gingersnaps and Chocolate!

Today in Math, our class got to do some baking! We made chocolate cookies and gingersnaps for the Ten Thousand Villages sale being held at our school this weekend. Here are the recipes:

Gingersnaps

2 cups white sugar                        4 tsp. baking soda
1 cup margarine                            3 cups white flour
1 cup molasses                             1 ¼ tsp. cinnamon (extra if you like)
2 eggs                                            1 ¼ tsp. ginger (extra if you like)

  1. Cream sugar and margarine together.
  2. Add eggs and molasses.
  3. Add dry ingredients.
  4. Roll into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
  5. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for 8-9 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, bang sheet a few times on the counter to crack cookies.
  7. Let the cookies cool a little.
  8. Move to rack – enjoy!

Chocolate Cookies

3 boxes Devil’s food cake mix
1 cup oil
6 eggs

  1. Mix eggs and oil.
  2. Slowly add in cake mix.
  3. Roll into small balls.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes at 350.
