We have a challenge starting at our school for the next two weeks to help restock the shelves of our food bank! We had a visitor speak at our school to tell us all about it.

We have set off on our Christmas Around the World adventures this month! So far we have visited France, Italy, Poland, China, and Sweden. We have been lucky to get some treats and souvenirs along the way!

When Mrs. Kostiuk and Mrs. MacLeod attended the Google Summit last weekend in Victoria we were excited to participate in the Mannequin Challenge. You can spot Mrs. MacLeod’s blond hair near the front row close to the stage at the beginning of the video.
This week the grade 3’s decided to try out the Mannequin Challenge during Frolicking Friday!
We enjoyed taking some time to enjoy the fresh snow over at our neighbourhood park!

We had the privilege of having a member from the Ktunaxa Nation visit our classroom this week!
Bonnie told us how to say a few words in the Ktunaxa language and also how to say the word, Ktunaxa properly:

It is all about playing with technology too much and forgetting what is around you and what is important. This is a great reminder as we lead up to Take Me Outside Day on Wednesday. Thanks to Mrs. Sharpe for letting us borrow this story!

As has become tradition in our class at the beginning of the year, today Mrs. Keiver joined us to create a talking stick for our class. She shared this Aboriginal story with us about the talking stick:
Next, we each got to choose an item to add to our diamond willow stick.
This talking stick is special to our class and will be useful during class discussions and meetings. I can’t wait to try it out!

The French students from the high school visited us again! This time they had lots of different games for us to enjoy out in the sunshine!

We have started our own weavings. Mrs. Misuraca showed us how to set it all up and we now have lots of skilled helpers in our room! I can’t wait to see how they turn out :).
