Our Kindness Boomerang

Inspired by Pink Shirt Day, Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) week, the Kindness Boomerang video by Life Vest Inside, and our study of the “One Smile” story, our class set out last week to create our own kindness boomerang. All acts of kindness were thought of by our class and were filmed in one shot! We hope you enjoy 🙂

What is the story of Pink Shirt Day?

How has the kindness boomerang inspired you?

One Smile

We have been enjoying the story of “One Smile” and how it relates to the kindness boomerang video.

Mrs. Carriere came to help us learn about this story. Here are some of the connections we made:

This fits in perfectly with our celebration of RAK Week (Random Acts of Kindness) and is a good lead up to Pink Shirt day next Wednesday, February 22. Stay tuned to see how these kindness boomerangs have inspired us to do something of our own 😉

Radical Acts of Kindness Challenge

It’s RAK week and whether you choose to acknowledge “Random Acts of Kindness”,”Real Acts of Caring”, or “Radical Acts of Kindness” as some students in our class liked to, the theme is kindness! We have a challenge this week in our classroom. Today we created a book of compliments. Students brainstormed 5 different compliments and are challenged to give one out a day all week long. The rules are that you can only give one compliment out to someone in our class. The rest have to be given elsewhere – to other kids or adults in the school, at home, to a neighbour or friend, to whoever you like! Students need to write down the names of who they gave their compliments to so that we can share at the end of the week. 20160215-152551.jpg
