Check out our fun eggs that we dyed with Miss Granger!
How did you dye your eggs?
What did you do for the long weekend?
Our school has been designated a “green school” because of the many environmental projects that we do! Here are a couple of things we have done this week:
Every year before Christmas we have a Recycled Shopping event. Families donate new and gently used items to the school and our amazing PAC group helps to set them up in the gym. Students in every class make tags (out of old Christmas cards) for their family members and get to visit the gym to shop. Thank you so much to all of our parent volunteers for making this event a great success every year!
Another activity I like to do every year with our class is to make an ornament. This year we made our ornaments from frozen juice lids (thanks Mrs. Burgess for saving them!) and the rings from our jars of applesauce that we made in October. I think they worked out very nicely! Good work grade 2’s and 3’s!
It’s getting to be that time of year where we start practicing for our school Christmas Concert! This year our concert will be centered around Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!
Our class will be performing the song, “We’re A Couple of Misfits”. Here is a recording of Mrs. Haggard singing our song and Miss Trish playing the piano. You can sing along with the lyrics below!
We’re a couple of misfits
We’re a couple of misfits
What’s the matter with misfits?
That’s where we fit in!
We’re not daffy and dilly
Don’t go ’round willy nilly
Seems to us kinda silly
That we don’t fit in.
We may be different from the rest
Who decides the test?
Of what is really best?
We’re a couple of misfits
We’re a couple of misfits
What’s the matter with misfits?
That’s where we fit in!
Why am I such a misfit?
I am not just a nit wit!
I’m an adorable reindeer
Why don’t I fit in?
Why am I such a misfit?
I am not just a nit wit!
They can’t fire me.
I QUIT!
We may be different from the rest
Who decides the test
Of what is really best?
We’re a couple of misfits
We’re a couple of misfits
What’s the matter with misfits?
That’s where we fit in!
Pedagogy is the science and art of education. Here is a collection of some of my personal highlights over the past two years at our school. I am so pleased to be back at our school again in the fall :)!
We had an exciting craft afternoon this week! A big thank you to all of our wonderful parent volunteers who came to help us. Together with Mrs. Sharpe’s class and Mrs. Taggart’s class, we sewed our own stockings, made Christmas cards, and created some polar bear art.
What was your favourite craft activity?
Where are you going to hang your stocking when you take it home?
