Sew Much Fun

We have been reading the story, “Mr. Peabody’s Apples” and doing many activities with the book. Our final project was to sew our own pillows. It was tricky, but everyone did such a good job. After we were finished stitching up the sides and stuffing our pillows we ended up taking scissors to the middle of our pillow. We were able to stitch this back up. This relates to the special message in “Mr. Peabody’s Apples”.

What is the message in Mr. Peabody’s Apples?

How was it sewing your own pillow?

  5. Dear Grade 3’s,
It must have been hard to cut your pillows! Just like it must have been hard for people to forget the bad rumours about Mr. Peabody! And even though you could sew them back up, it’s not quite the same, is it?
Great thinking about the message in this powerful story.
